Wait. What?

So I’m doing some research this morning and I come across this site that seems to be very useful for caregivers and family members of patients dealing with end of life care. What confuses me is that last sentence. If something is at no cost, isn’t it free?

Mission:Possible

This morning I woke up a 4:45am to get ready for work. You know that feeling where you really have to peel yourself out of bed? It’s like your bed is a magnet sucking you back in no matter how hard you try to get up. Okay maybe it’s called laziness. I had that feeling this morning but not for too long. I woke up, took a deep breath, & thought to myself “ugh, i really don’t want to, but I better get up before I’m late for work”… I was quickly reminded of yesterday’s homily and how Fr. Thomas challenged us to wake up every morning and ask God “Lord, what is it that you want me to do today? What is my mission for today?”
Within seconds the first thought that came to mind was “to serve your people, to serve my brothers & sisters”
There was no other answer that I needed to hear, know, or feel, but that answer alone. I quickly got up and started my day.

No matter how stressful my days have been over the past months, I try not to forget His purpose and his plan for me. I’m truly grateful for all my family & friends who continue to support me through the craziness of it all <3

Our house has a new scent. Scent that you can’t find at Bath & Body Works. Mmm…. rubber.

La di da di c3 like to party

I have tons of things to do before the new week begins and blogging isn’t one of them, but here I go! :)

Last weekend, my family celebrated our nephew’s (and also my godson) baptismal party. I can’t believe how fast he’s growing! There was a ton of delicious food and lots of family and friends gathered together to celebrate new life. I pray for my inaanak everyday so that he will always journey with our Lord and that I can do my best as a godmother to help guide him.

I can’t take credit for these pictures because my brother took them. I think I want a new camera for myself ;)

After a quick change into our fancy clothes, we celebrated my Auntie’s 60th Birthday. This particular auntie helped take care of me from the very beginning. I can still remember hanging out at her house during many summers. We would swim/hold on to the side of the pool and go around it. In the winter, we would roast marshmallows in her fireplace. Looking back, that was probably toxic, but it was too fun! Those were the days! I wish her a happy 60th and many more years to come!

Family gatherings are always a blessing. Coming from a big family, it is becoming more difficult to gather everyone in one place at one time. Cousins are starting their own families, people are tied up with work, or busy studying for school, but when we come together it’s always fun and crazy times. I don’t know what I would do without my family – they’re just that AMAZING <3

c3 <3 We’re not all looking in the same direction, but we are all in the same picture!

First of Many

Ultimate fail in daily blogging. I’m about 85 posts behind. Let’s see if I can catch up. Because it’s my brother’s birthday, I shall share pictures from his very first marathon :)

Click here to see our LA Marathon photos. ENJOY!

I decided to run the LA Marathon about 5 days prior to the race. A friend was injured during his training so I figured why let a bib go to waste. I asked my brother if he wanted to do it and that sucker said yes! little did he know what he was getting himself into. He got a bib and the rest was history.

I hope this is his first of many marathons. He definitely needs to catch up to me. Muahahaha

Happy Birthday Brother! <3

I know I know. Shame on me. I’ve been MIA for a whole month or so, but I’ve been super busy. I’m going to have to post multiple times a day to catch up.

I’m sitting here at dinner and thiiiiiis girl brings her notes to
study. She also has to remind me that I’m behind on blogging. Lol. So here I am on my phone writing an entry!

Okay time to wait for our food.

Xoxo,

Twenty Six Point Two

Los Angeles Marathon 2008

I haven’t been wanting to run any marathons lately. I’ve lost the drive and motivation to push myself that far (and because I injured both feet in 2010), but I figured why not? Why not run the LA Marathon this Sunday? My friend was training for the LA Marathon, but got injured along the way. I asked him a couple days ago if I could have his bib and he said yes. I hate to see bibs go to waste. So now I am going to run the LA Marathon tomorrow. Crazy, I know. I haven’t trained since LB Marathon 2010. The only exercise I’ve done is cardio and strength training at the gym 2-3 times a week since last November. Even at the gym I hardly run. Last time I ran was a week ago. I ran two miles. 26.2 miles is going to be a challenge, but I am determined to cross that finish line. I will run. I will walk. I will jog. I will crawl if I have to.

Wish me luck!

Wonder Bread

Image

I went grocery shopping this morning and bought breakfast foods for the upcoming week. I can’t recall the last time I bought white bread, but I felt so guilty buying it. I always buy 100% Whole Wheat, but not today! I think buying the cream of wheat and honey nut Cheerios make up for the guilty feeling. I’m not a ‘health freak,’ but I try to make the “healthier” choice when I can. I must say I’ve been pretty good at not buying unhealthy snacks (chips, cookies, candy, etc.) Ok, that’s all.

P.S. I bought Nutella and Marshmallow Spread, too! The thought of making it on wheat bread didn’t seem appetizing so I bought white. The End.

P.S.S. Ok, this post was lame. Back to homework!
